Travelling to Manchester

Manchester can be reached easily by train and coach within the UK as well as by air through Manchester International Airport from almost anywhere in the world.

Getting a train from Manchester Airport to the Registration desk at RNCM

Follow the rail signs in your arrival terminal. Trains run to Manchester Piccadilly rail station and take approximately 15–20 minutes, many continue onto Oxford Road, Deansgate and Salford Central stations. You can buy tickets at ‘The Station’ from self service ticket machines or the ticket office (about £6).

Travelling from Heathrow Airport to Central London

There are various options for travel to London depending on your budget and timescales.

• Underground trains operate every 5 minutes into central London with a journey time of approximately 50/60 minutes. Cost is around £5.00. More information can be found on the Underground page of this site.
• Heathrow Express - fast, frequent trains operate from Heathrow to London Paddington. The journey time is 15 minutes. A single fare is £13.00 and £25.00 return. More information about Heathrow Express.
• Taxi - London taxis are available outside each terminal. The cost to central London is £45.00-50.00 and the journey time is approximately 1 hour.

Travelling from Gatwick Airport to Central London

The best way to go to Central London is to take Gatwick Express train (£11 each way), which gets you to London Victoria station. To travel to Manchester from there, you have a wide range of choice, as described below. In all cases you need to take the London Underground (‘Tube’) to go to one of the London stations.
