All are invited to attend an Irish Music Study day in McMordie Hall in the Music Building on Friday May 18th. Kicking off with a keynote lecture by Dr. Kerry Houston of the Dublin Institute of Technology a 1 pm, the study day features presentations by PhD students in Music, Sonic Arts, Drama, and English in Queen's and PhD students from DIT and UU-Magee. The day finishes with a concert of traditional music in the Harty Room, a rare duet by renowned uillean piper Robbie Hannan and fiddle player Jesse Smith. The concert is free of charge for those attending the study day.

JAM Concert

Description: The Junior Academy of Music (JAM) at the School of Creative Arts presents their end-of-the-year concert. During the morning more than 130 children from four different JAM programmes will be showcasing their musicianship through choir singing, brass band playing as well as through performing with current digital technologies. Everyone welcome. Entrance free of charge.
